Keep yourself hydrated....

A different take on using the Halloween cube 2 from STAMPOTIQUE.  :)  Love this pumpkin as much as the skeleton on the cube!  Dp is from the TH paperstash pad and his flower die cut.  The button is from a local vintage shop and sentiment is computer generated.  I want to enter this in the Corrosive challenge blog: show your dark side!
Thanks for looking!  Have a great week- :)

Hi there!  Check out the NEW challenge over at STAMPOTIQUE.  Make a bookmark!  easy peasy!

Our hostess this week is Kate Crane and here is what she has challenged us with:

I am always looking for ways to make art which is useful, something I can use in every day life so what better than a bookmark? You can never have enough of these ... I like to use them to mark pages in all of my favourite art publications! You can make any type of  bookmark: A traditional straight bookmark, a corner bookmark, a swinging tag ... In any style: Vintage, funky, cute or weird. Anything goes! So go and dig out all for your favourite Stampotique stamps, it's time to get creative!!  PLEASE use STAMPOTIQUE only stamps for THIS challenge.:)
Here is my little and somewhat quick bookmark made at the request of ONE dd (she wanted pink!).  I used SMILE from Stampotique and some bg "indie bloom " dp, did a little sponging and punching :)  tfl!  GO check out the other dts' samples!

"smile"

Love this cute kid: "smile" from STAMPOTIQUE.  There is just something about this image that makes me smile when I see this little guy! :)  The sentiment on the side is "happy happy" also from STAMPOTIQUE.  DP is the bg pad called "indie bloom".   This is a quickie thank you card for a friend who gave me an amazing gift...the inside says "thank you for making me so very happy".  I would like to enter this in two challenges-  Stampin 4 the weekend=  "spots and dots " = the spots (hole punched) on the side in black and the Fab n Funky challenge blog=  "a stitch in time"= stitching on the bottom!     tfl!

Just thinking of how much I like Van Gogh... starry night

My dd and I love Van Gogh and I wanted to do something different with the newspaper clip announcing her engagement.  I am also playing around lately with some art journaling techniques and painting some canvas (more on this hopefully later).  I painted 2 canvas with some gesso and acrylics, layered some book pages and stenciled some flowers.  I also used a couple sharpies ( white, gold and silver) and made this up for her.  The vintage ribbon border is from our local antique mall.  BTW, the wedding colors will be navy, ivory and silver. :) tfl :)

Catered crop FTR18 challenge and "the Spotted chick"

Over at the Catered crop challenge blog (love the inspiration there) I was drooling over the cute cards!  Yep...I am in for this one lol.
I went to mass last night so I figured I would have fun in the art room and make a card for my sister ( still battling health problems) this morn.   The" recipe ingredients" I used were:  the colors red, yellow, blue, green and kraft...embellishments were buttons , ribbon and twine.  Tools, nesties die cut and tho the theme is a garden...I think I may have covered that using this graphic 45 dp..it has some peaches on it! :)
ALSO:  Over at the "spotted chick" the challenge is to use "kraft" paper so this is my entry! TFL  Have a great week! :)

Even SILENCE speaks...

Love this sentiment...from STAMPOTIQUE.   This is a card I made for my niece who loves skeletons...day of the dead..those types of images.  This skeleton is from the Halloween cube 2  #6110 which has a few other cute Halloween images on it.  I think this is the BEST skeleton I ever saw...he he he he  :)  The background is ALSO from STAMPOTIQUE called  heads #6097. I am in for the CORROSIVE challenge to use "earth tones" and for the CREATIVE BELLI blog to use "non paper " materials on your creation...besides the string twine and the brads I grabbed this metal clip that came on a clothing tag when I bought it new.  Isnt is just so cool when you re-use these items?? :)   TFL!

Art journaling

This week over at STAMPOTIQUE the lovely Valerie is challenging us  to  alter any page in a book .  I belong to an art group in my area and we are all working on journaling books so I was happy to use my Stampotique stamps.
I have only done a few books and this one is different for me.  The book is an old encyclopedia and the pages are painted with gesso and acrylics.  I bordered the frame with scraps of dp and book pages .  I used magazines for the cut outs and word stickers, punches and doodling.  This book is all about techniques and ideas to try in my art work.  I used "I can see clearly" #6091 girl from STAMPOTIQUE colored up with copics on the side:
I also used the verse "the simplest things give me ideas" #9083...This is a quote by Joan Miro...I was always told by my high school art teacher that my work seemed to remind him of this artist...  :)   So I love the quote.
If you havent tried an art journal yet I can tell you they are really alot of fun and very addicting!  The challenge this week is open to use any stamps so why not give it a try?  The prize is $30.00 to use in the Stampotique store.  TFL!
